Goodbye Jack Frost
Baseball has started, the Masters Tournament is over, and thanks to the record high pollen count, my seasonal allergies are once again in full force. This must mean one thing… winter is over! I know, I probably shouldn’t say that cause as soon as I do, it will undoubtedly snow next week but I am willing to take that chance. Put away the snow scrapers and get out the grill scrapers cause summer is just around the corner. I personally am a big fan of the outdoors (despite the itchy/watery eyes, sneezing, and running nose) and feel that is a shame to waste a bright sunny day in the confines of your home or office, but sometimes such is life.
So as I sit at my desk, which is in a windowless office (for the record it is 70 degrees outside right now without a cloud in the sky) I decide to make a post about the various ways to use dowels (as well as some other products that Cincinnati Dowel offers) while enjoying the great outdoors.
Here are some of the things I came up with:
-marshmallow roasting stick -golf tees -baseball bats -stakes for holding up plants in a garden -sanding outdoor furniture -markers for hiking paths -skewers for grilling -perches/poles for bird houses or feeders -umbrella poles -kite handles -broom handle (although sweeping isn’t the most enjoyable thing to do outside) -flag poles -dog toy (much more durable than a regular stick) -croquet mallet handle -pinata crushing stickI am sure there are plenty more but the more I think of, the more I wish I was actually partaking in some outside activity….such as golfing (there might not be anything more enjoyable than playing a round of 18 on a crisp sunny spring day). So check out our store and if you have some more good outdoor uses for some of our products feel free to post them.
